                                                                                         ENVIRONMENTAL MONITOR (RSMICRO)

Temperature and humidity are two to the most critical conditions to monitor in computing space. While temperature is often given moderate attention, relative humidity can often be overlooked. As a site works to decrease temperature, they may inadvertently decrease humidity below recommended levels. Humidity has the potential to create condensation leading to corrosion and the possibility of electrical failures or if relative humidity is too low, static discharges can cause serious problems. The RSMICRO Environmental Monitor featuring PoE (Power over Ethernet) is ideal if you are having trouble accessing power but need to monitor temperature and humidity. This small module can be placed discreetly and be up and running within minutes with only a single Ethernet connection for access.

If your installation is not PoE enabled and AC power is not accessible at the monitoring point, the Environmental Monitor can still be utilized in your system in conjunction with a PoE injector. PoE eliminates the need to run AC power to access points and other devices on a wire LAN. Installers only need to run a standard CAT5 cable that will carry both data and power to each device. The PoE injector (sold separately) takes data from an Ethernet hub and power from a wall outlet and outputs both data and power through a CAT5 cable.
